William Holmes MacKenzie, 82, of Cocoa Beach, Florida returned to his heavenly home peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at his home in Cocoa Beach. William was born on May 3, 1937 in Queens New York to Angus MacKenzie and Mary Holmes MacKenzie. He met Joan Marie at the age of 13. Their bond became very strong and William married his long time sweetheart on November 4, 1955. Together they shared a home in Queens. As the years progressed, the couple welcomed 2 children into their home, William Roy and Evelynne Mary. They settled down in Long Island and the family of 4 continued to build their lives together. He retired as the General Manager for Entemann’s/ Kraft Foods after 30 years and spent his retirement enjoying family, friends, and golfing at Suntree, where he made several holes in one and won the Member/ Guest golf championship with his son, Billy. His children remember him as a very hard worker, loving and a dad that always encouraged them to pursue their goals.
William is survived by his son, William (Molly) MacKenzie of St. Petersburg, FL, daughter, Evelynne (William) Strick of Suntree; Brother George (Sue); Grandchildren Brittney (Brandon), Tiffany (Bryan) Kathryn, William, Jessica, Avery, Andrew, Madeline, and Maclane; Great Grandchildren, Jackson, Emily and Ella. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Joan MacKenzie, parents; Angus and Mary MacKenzie and his brother Gordon.
