William H. Kovarovics, 83, of Ashford, husband of Pearl Kovarovics, died Thursday, August 24, 2006, along with his wife, of injuries received in an automobile accident in Griswold. He was born May 22, 1923 in Ashford, son of Stephen and Apolonia (Rehak) Kovarovics. He was employed at the Cheney Mills in Manchester as a Jacquard Weaver for 23 years. Prior to his retirement in 1985 he was employed at the University of Connecticut for 15 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in the 463rd Anti Aircraft Artillery in Europe.
