William George Wellham, 96, of Linthicum, passed away on July 28, 2014 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. He was born in Baltimore, MD on February 23, 1918 to the late Frances and William Wellham. William graduated from Glen Burnie High School and went on to serve our country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps from January 1942 – January 1946 in the Asiatic Pacific Area. He was a Platoon Sergeant and was awarded the Purple Heart, Pacific Campaign Medal, and the Presidential Unit Citation. He then worked at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a driver/salesman and retired as a manager of data processing after 45 years. William was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, The MD Chapter of the 1st Marine Division Association and the Guadalcanal Veterans Association.
