William “Bill” George Olesen, 77, of Durham, husband of Bonnie Lou (Lubanda) Olesen for fifty-four years, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Middlesex Health Care Center. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Marius and Elizabeth (Downs) Olesen.
Bill grew up in Northford and moved to Durham in 1963. He was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Manufacturing for forty-two years. He was an avid outdoorsman, including hunting, fishing and gardening. Anyone who knew Bill, knew he lived his life around the seasons. He was a lifetime member of the Raccoon Club in Durham.
Along with his wife, Bill is survived by his son, William G. Olesen, II and his wife, Alison of Durham; his daughter, Nancy Resino of Salisbury, NC; a brother, Marius “Mickey” Olesen of Cheshire; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, a daughter, Debra Johnson and a brother, Theodore Olesen, predeceased him.
