William Geik, 79, of Galien, Michigan, died Tuesday morning, October 9, 2007, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana. Bill was born November 22, 1927 in Three Oaks Township to Gust and Bertha (Schmidt) Geik. He graduated from New Troy High School in 1947, and four years later, on July 6, 1951, he married Shirley Foster in Sawyer, Michigan.
Bill retired from Bendix in South Bend after more than 30 years of service. He was involved in his children’s activities and was a Little League Coach for years. Bill was also active in his community. He was a member of the Galien Lions Club and served on the Galien School Board and the Galien Village Council.
Bill is survived by his wife Shirley; children, Dennis (Peggy) Geik of South Bend, Indiana; Richard (Susanne) Geik of South Bend; Sharon (Michael) Kuntz of Niles, Michigan; and Scott (Cheryl) Geik of Valparaiso, Indiana; granddaughters, Kristin and Sarah; grandsons, Matthew, Christopher, Jason, Ryan, Bryan and Tyler; sisters, Lena Strefling of Lawrence, Michigan; Ruth (Sherman) Ott of Bridgman, Michigan; and Evelyn (Emmit) Kempton of Bridgman, and his brother, Robert (Carolyn) Geik of Niles.
