William G. Hillis, 85, of Greensburg, died, Thursday, February 25, 2021 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born December 8, 1935 in Hempfield Township a son of the late Preston Glenn and Helen (Deemer) Hillis.
Bill retired from the former Bell Telephone Company in the central office where he worked as a switching equipment technician. He was an active and faithful member of Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served on the church council.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara (Cope) Hillis; his three children, William L. Hillis (Martha); Carrie (Hillis) Morchesky (Richard) and Debbie Fandel (Jeff); eight grandchildren, William G. Hillis (Amy), Cheryl Sisk (Christopher), Melissa Redd (Josh), Robert Hillis, Michelle Damiano (Anthony), Richard J. Morchesky, Brandon Fandel and Nicole Fandel; eleven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Nancy Jordan, Ruth Hite (William), Carol Rossi, James Hillis, and Jean Hippler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
