William Freeman “Papa” Henson, 85 Anderson, has gone home to be with the Lord, on June 21, 2011, at his residence. He was born July 3, 1925, in Overton County, Tennessee, and resided in Anderson since 1952. William worked for Nicholson File for 23 years. He was a member of Valley Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Papa loved his family very much and served the Lord. Although he was confined to a wheelchair for the last 22 years, he still enjoyed working with his hands.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna “Jean” Wilson Henson; daughter, Char Williams; grandchildren, Jayme Carrie Williams & children, Jaymen, Carley, Jay and Jonney, Jason Lori Williams & children, Jordon, Hannah, Macy, and Jacey, and Jared Williams; son, Rich Donnellyn Henson; grandchildren, Chad Henson, Lee Lindsey Henson & daughter, Sydnee, Libby Erich Apple & sons, Dane & Gage, Whitney James Bodenhorn & daughters, Addison and Harper, Morgan Henson and Landin Nichel Henson; siblings, A.V. Henson of Lavernge, Tennessee and Lillie Looper of Rickman, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews including, special nephew, Otis & Pat Henson and special niece, Lisa Wihebrink and family whose endless help is greatly appreciated; a host of friends and family and beloved pet, Sammy.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lynn & Alice Harris Henson; brothers, Calvin, J.T., Arie, J.C., Eulas, and A.B. Henson; sisters, Jaunita Tinch and Jessie Oakley and his son-in-law, Rev. Johnny Dale Williams.
