After a long and courageous battle with heart disease and diabetes, William “Frank” Murphy, 74, of Jane Lew, passed away on October 27, 2022, at his residence with family and friends by his side.  He was born on January 25, 1948, in Harrison County West Virginia, the son of Ed and Mary Murphy.

Frank graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1967.  He was a successful self-employed insurance salesman for most of his adult life.  He enjoyed anything involving the great outdoors to include, hunting, fishing, and boating.  He loved working with his hands, such as doing carpentry and auto-mechanic work.  He was literally a “Jack of all Trades.”  He was always helpful to others and willing to pass his knowledge onto those who needed it.

Frank is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Hufford Murphy, and his children Lisa Watson and her husband Chris of Clarksburg, Frankie Kelley and her husband Gilbert “Gib” of Bridgeport, and William “Eddie” Murphy and his wife Kelly of Belington.  He was a proud grandfather of Brad, Jerry, Dominique, Ireland, Brennan, Devon, Gabe, Aiden, and Colin; great-grandfather of Hayven, Kora, and Sawyer; and a loving uncle to cherished nieces and nephews.  He is survived by his precious sisters-in-law, Melody Palmer, Pat Hufford, and Nina Smith Hufford; his dear brother-in-law, Don Hufford; his loving Aunt Betty Merritt; and his wonderful cousins whom he held close to his heart.

Frank was also blessed with many great friends and neighbors who have always been there for him and were willing to lend a helping hand.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Edward “Ed” Murphy, his mother, Mary Baker Murphy Givens, and a brother Thomas “Johnny” Murphy.

Many thanks are extended to Stonerise Home Health and WVU Medicine Hospice for their help during the past few months.
