William F. “Bill” Pike passed away Thursday November 6, 2014 at Swedish Medical Center, Englewood, Colorado. Bill died from complications following a fall on Monday of this week. Bill was born on January 10, 1922, in Monroe City, Missouri. He was the youngest and only surviving sibling of six children, four brothers and one sister born to W. B. and Bige Pike of Monroe City and then Denver.
Bill married Elizabeth Jean McClintic, of Monroe City, in 1941, in Laramie Wyoming. He served in the US Army Air Corps as a sergeant flying missions in the Pacific theater from 1944 through 1945. Bill and Jean returned to Denver after the war where they raised five boys prior to their moving to Buena Vista Colorado in 1981. Jean passed away in 1986 in Buena Vista.
Bill married Pauline “Mike” Paulin in 1988 and spent almost twenty five happy years in Buena Vista, until her death in 2013. Bill moved back down to Denver to be near his four boys a few months ago.
Bill was preceded in death by his two wives, son Gregory, his brothers and his sister. He is survived by his sons, Charley, Carl, Pat and Mike, three grand sons, three grand daughters, three great grand daughters and two great grandsons.
