William F. “Bill” Morningstar, age 88, passed away on May 24, 2020.
He was born in Baltimore, Md. on May 11th, 1932 son of William F. Morningstar Sr. and Marion Fischer of Baltimore, Maryland.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Morningstar (Meyers) brother of Clarence “Joe” Morningstar and the late John and Harold Morningstar. Also survived by seven children, Mary Dabecco (Vince), Donald Morningstar (Donna), Margaret “Annie” Jackson (Ken), Barbara Smith (Roy), Robert Morningstar (Dawn), Theresa Morningstar and William “Billy” Morningstar (Cana), 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and other family and friends whom he loved very much.
Bill was a proud U.S. Army veteran (1949-1952), including a tour in Korea where he received the Purple Heart. Bill began working for the P.R.R in 1952 (and eventually Amtrak) where he worked until he retired in 1994. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Meyers on July 25, 1953 at Mt. Carmel Church in Baltimore, Maryland. He was also a lifelong member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Essex, Maryland. Besides family his lifelong pleasures were trains, gardening, crabbing and fishing.
