William F. Miller Jr, 57, lost his long hard-fought battle with LUPUS on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Billy was a man you could always count on. Whether it be for advice, lending an ear, or just a good laugh Billy always stood at the ready to be there for those who counted on him most.

Billy worked for the Lycoming County Prison for 22 years prior to being diagnosed with LUPUS. LUPUS would ultimately take his career but not his quick wit and sarcasm. Billy could come up with one liners that could make anyone spit out a drink or just shake their head as they chuckled. Billy fought his disease for decades and often prided himself on beating the grim reaper on more than one occasion.

Many others with such a devastating disease would have given up long ago. But not BILLY. Anyone who knew him or worked with him knew that if there was anything he loved it was a good fight. After his last bout with the grim reaper Billy would often joke about when it is time to take a “dirt nap”. While no laughing matter, humor was a way he coped with a disease that robbed him of many of the things he loved, but could never take his sense of humor or his rugged spirit.

Billy loved his guns, and target shooting was a hobby that gave him something to look forward to. Before LUPUS took his ability to get around like he used to he loved to shoot in competition.

Billy is survived by his wife of 31 years Cindy Quigley Miller; stepson Mark Quigley; step daughter Leah Masciantonio (Don); his best friend Baron (his German Shepard); and brothers Michael (Gina), Joseph, and Timothy (Nicole) Miller. Billy will be deeply missed.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William F. Miller Sr. and Sharon R. (Bailey) Miller.
