William “Pistol” Wheeler, a lifelong resident of Tanner Williams, AL, born December 5,1949, went to be with our Lord and Savior May 21, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents Johnny Wheeler and Lorena Foster Wheeler, his brothers; John “Bully” Wheeler, Price Wheeler, and Ernest Wheeler, and his sister Ruth Wheeler Dearman. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife Dale Jordan Wheeler, his children; Earl, Russell, and Jessica, grandson; Matty Wheeler, brothers; Jimmy, Albert, and Carl “PeeWee” Wheeler, and sisters; Marybelle Thomas, Gladys Fowler, Edith Havens, and Barbara Havens. Brother Pete was a beloved and faithful member of Church of the Lord’s Disciples. Not only did he play the piano and sing those good old gospel hymns that he loved, but he also ministered the true Word of God to his fellow church members and fellow brethren alike. More than anything, he was a true prayer warrior. He would hurt with you and he would rejoice with you. He would pray for you and pray with you. He was a true disciple of Christ and surely one to call on when you needed an answer from above. He earnestly yearned for the power of God to be manifested, and today, He has witnessed it. For all he has prayed for, for all he has longed for, today, my friends, he has received it. For in my heart, I know, he is with his Father, beholding all His glory. As we grieve at his passing, we also feel his encouragement saying, “Press on Church. Reach for that mark, that prize, that high calling, in Christ Jesus. For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. So, until we meet again Brother Pete, we will be joyfully singing with you “Just build my mansion next door to Jesus. Tell all the angels I’m coming home.”
