William E. Warren affectionately know as “Papa” was born on November 11, 1944 to the late Edward and Viola Warren in Martinsburg, Maryland.
Papa entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. After a brief illness he was receiving care from his son, Dwayne Warren.
He was educated in the Montgomery County Public School Systems.
As a young man he was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a longtime employee with Montgomery County Transit, Ride On and he also retired from Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Metro after eleven year of service. He was a member of Local Union 689 with Metro.
He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Sonia Warren; two sons, William “Tony” Warren and Dwayne Warren; three sisters, Shirley Allen, Gladys Taylor and Kathleen Warren; two brothers, Thomas (Justine) Warren and Kevin (Renee) Warren; four grandchildren, Twayla Elmore, Ryan Morgan, Amber Warren and Dwayne Warren, Jr.; a host of other family members and friends.
William was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Warren and a sister Naomi Mingo.
