William Edward Gentry, 87, of Canon City, Colorado passed away December 26, 2014. Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; sons, William (Barb) and Eddie (Yolanda) Gentry; daughters, Linda (John) Bibb, Brenda (Dan) Cummings, and Cynthia (Stuart) Adams; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and sisters, Reva Miller and Judy Leibherr. Bill was born May 9, 1927 in Middletown, Ohio. He was drafted into the Army at age 18 and is a World War II Veteran. After the Army, Bill enlisted in the Navy and served for 4 years. In 1967, Bill moved his family to Colorado. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, dirt bike riding, and playing Texas Holdem with his friends. He also got a kick out of pranking everyone with his mongoose in his garage.
