William Edgar Walker “Willie” of Vicksburg, Ms., passed away in Clinton, Ms., on January 29, 2016, at 3:00 P.M., at the age of 78.
Willie was born on April 19, 1937 in Lake Providence, La., to James Lee and Dolly Olivia Walker. Willie spent 46 years in the oil and gas industry and 31 years of his career with Santa Fe International. Willie enjoyed time with his family especially his grandchildren as well as playing pool with his friends at the local Moose Lodge. Willie was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was actively involved with the Wounded Warrior Project.
Willie is survived by two sons, William Clinton Walker and wife Jennifer of Vicksburg, Ms., and Cody Ryan Walker and wife Catalina of Merced, Ca.,and one daughter, Carrie Walker Oakes and husband, Andy of Clinton, Ms. His pride and joy were his nine grandchildren,Emmy, Eva, Lourdes, Inez, Oscar, Felix Walker, Dawson,Landon, Izzie Oakes, and one expected grandson, William Walker. He is also survived by three brothers, Jerry Walker of West Monroe, La., Charlie Walker of Cameron, La., and John Walker of Houston, Tx., and six sisters, Louise Buffington of Olive Branch, Ms.,Geraldine Harbin of Kermit, Tx., Barbara Jean Randall of Houston, Tx., Lucille Cognevich of New Orleans, La., Madeline Arsement of Lake Charles, La., Linda White of Lake Charles, La., and many loving nieces and nephews.
Willie was preceded by his parents, James Lee and Dolly Olivia Walker and two brothers, LeRoy and Bobby Walker.
