William Edward Erbes, 85 of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Erbes was born December 13, 1929, in Centralia, the son of William Edward Erbes, Sr., and Mildred (Buehne) Erbes.

He married Marilyn May on January 28, 1951, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife of 64 years, he is also survived by two sons: Richard Erbes and wife Ruth of Centralia and David Erbes and wife Peggy of Centralia; three grandchildren: Darrell Erbes and wife Canna of Centralia, Jason Erbes and Amy Myers of Centralia, and Melissa Erbes and Danny Bradham of Centralia; two great-granddaughters: Stephanie Erbes and Serena Erbes both of Centralia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Erbes.

William served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He previously worked at the Hollywood Candy Company and in 1961 he became the owner of Erbes Gas Heating and Cooling serving the Centralia area. He enjoyed guns and fishing. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, where he served as an Elder and Usher for many years. He was a Board Member of the Centralia Area Historical Society Museum and he drove for the Veteran Affairs. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
