Mr. Robinson was born to the late Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Seay Belle Toney Robinson on October 21, 1948 in Morgan County, Alabama. He departed his earthly home on September 13, 2015, at the V.A. Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, to live with the Lord and Savior forever.
Realizing he needed to dedicate himself to the Lord, Buster,as he loved to be addressed, confessed his belief in God, under The Rev. W.E. Scott and joined St. James C.P. Church in America, when it was located on Market Street in Decatur, Alabama. He remained a faithful member and served tirelessly as a member of the Usher Board until his death.
Even though Buster was known for being strong willed, he had a very giving spirit with an unwavering faith in the Lord and the ability to help others. He was always helping others and did not request any thanks.
Buster was a graduate of Lakeside High School in 1967. After high school, he joined the United States Marines. He served in the Vietnam War, where he received a Purple Heart and was service connected for his injuries.
To cherish his memory, Buster leaves his loving and devoted children: Rodney Robinson of Lithonia, GA and Shonna Robinson Rivers of Waxhaw, NC; his fun-loving siblings: James O. Robinson (Deborah), of Madison, AL, Leonard Robinson (Jacklen) of Nashville, TN, Madeline Robinson and Lisa Russell (Larry) both of Decatur, AL; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; an aunt: Bessie Ezell of Louisville, KY; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; his Godmother, Marjorie Looney of Decatur, AL; and a host of friends, including a special friend, Lorriane Black of Decatur, AL.
