William E. Boyer, Sr, 68, Anderson, died November 2, 2002 at his residence after following an extended illness. He was born March 17, 1934 in Miamisburg, OH, and resided in Anderson, IN. He retired from Carpenters Local 758 of Indianapolis. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and local racing. He was known as Papaw by all the neighborhood kids.
He also enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his He is survived by his wife of 48 years, JoAnn Dalton Boyer whom he married on Jan. 1, 1954. One daughter: Linda and husband Rick Owen. Three sons: William ”Billy” and wife, Connie Boyer, Richard and wife, Barb Boyer, and Patrick Boyer. Six grandchildren: Shawn and wife Rhoda Cullen, Shane Cullen and fiance Robin Burton, Amanda Boyer, Amber Boyer and fiance Jacob Owens, Randy Owen, and Corey Boyer. Three step-grandsons: Shannon Owen, Kyle Owen and Wesley Owen and his two ”special little girls”, Jasmine Reeves and Joshlyn Burton. He is also survived by one sister. Rita and husband Ernest Goins of Miamisburg, OH. Two brothers: Dale and wife June Boyer of Miamisburg, OH and David Boyer of Illinois, many nieces, nephews and friends. ”Papaw went to race at a better place.”
He was preceded by his Mother: Mary Moyer Boyer. Father: Carl E. Boyer. Brothers: Donnie Boyer and Allan Boyer and son-in-law Thomas Chunk Cullen.
