William E. “Bill” Hopp, age 70, of Metamora, IL passed away at 4:05 am on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his residence. He was born on June 15, 1946 in Burlington, IA to Dee L. and Marian (Hierstein) Hopp. He was married to Rosanne Hopp for forty years before her passing in 2008. He spent the past five years with his beloved Bonnie. She survives.
Also surviving are his children Andrew (Kristi) Hopp of Spring Bay and Deborah (Michael) Hanley of Denver. Bill had three grandchildren whom he adored: Abby Hopp, Alex Hopp, and Lincoln Hanley. Bill’s siblings, Larry (Betty) Hopp, Vicki Newton, Dan (Consuelo) Hopp, Steve (Denise) Hopp, and Connie (John) McCarty, also survive. Bill was preceded in death by his children, Eddy and Amy Hopp, his parents, and nine siblings.
Bill honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1967. He then moved to Peoria to work for IBM.
