William Donald Towles (Don) went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 after a brief illness.  Don was born in Ensley, AL on December 6, 1934 and resided his entire adult life in Center Point, AL.  Don was preceded in death by his Father: Lee Andrew Towles, Mother: Gladys McCreary Towles, Brothers: L.A. Towles and Amos Towles. Don retired from Astralloy where he enjoyed a successful career in sales.  After his retirement he began a second career with Wade Sand & Gravel designing machine parts, where he continued to work until his death.  Don loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as hunting and fishing and cooking delicious meals for all the people he loved. Don was a member of Huffman Baptist Church where he served the Lord through his tithes and offerings and was ordained as a deacon in 2007.   Don loved to travel and took many trips in the United States as well as abroad. Don was loved very much and will be greatly missed by his son,  Kenneth Donald Towles, daughter, Laura Towles Cone (Robert “Bo”) and son, Robert Heath Hart (Melody).  Grandchildren, Joseph Houston Paul III (Mallory), Jonathan William Paul, Kathryn Leigh Cone, Courtney Cone Schifani (Joey), Ashley Mullins (Christopher), Erin McDonald (Travis) and Tyler James Compton. Great Grandchildren, Amelia Margaret Paul, Violet Ann Paul, Cullen Beau Schifani, Elaina Taylor McDonald, Cleo Grey Mullins, Fox Oliver Mullins and Bram Collin McDonald and many other beloved nieces, nephews and cousins as well as lifelong friends Farris and Sharon Hill, Ken Dunaway and members of the Sandwood Farms Hunting Camp where he was the chief cook and regularly entertained the “boys” with his humor and long prayers.  Rascal, his beloved dog and trusty sidekick, will greatly miss sitting with his “Poppy” in the recliner.  An outdoor service to honor the life of Don will be conducted at Clearbranch United Methodist Church 8051 Glenn Road Trussville, AL 35173 (I-59 north exit 148) on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
