William Donald Overshiner, 77, Anderson, passed away January 21, 2009 at Community Hospital, Anderson after an extended illness. He was born November 5, 1931 in Salem, Indiana, and resided in Anderson most of his life.

He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict earning a Korean Service Campaign with a 5 Bronze Star. He retired on July 1, 1989 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 37 1/2 years of service.

William was a member of the USA Local #662. He enjoyed going to Florida in the winter months for fishing and boating.

He is survived by his wife whom he married March 26, 1969, Laqueta Joe Anne Hutchison Overshiner; children, Vanessa & husband Terry Waldrep of Alexandria, William Overshiner of Charleston, South Carolina, Raven Huffman of Anderson and Lance Wilgus of Linton; sisters, Louise Bivens and Alice Roberts; two granddaughters, Michelle Fields and Kimberly Huffman and husband James Peterson; six great grandchildren, Coti Fields, Leslie Huffman, Erin Fields, Roman Harness, Jacob Fields and Jada Peterson; one great great grandchild, Savannah Fields; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington & Maude Mae Temple Overshiner; brothers, Arthur Overshiner, Orville Overshiner, Ralph Overshiner and Delbert Overshiner and sister, Mable Dunkin.
