William “David” Yerkey, age 68, of Salem, died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the home of his son. He was born June 21, 9143 in Millersburg, Ohio, the son of Edwin Blair and Edna (Wright) Yerkey.
Before his retirement in 1994, he had been an assembler at General Motors for 30 years. He was a 1961 graduate of Crestline High School. David was a member of UAW #1112, Salem Italian American Club, Independent Hose Club and American Legion #131 in Leetonia. He loved his grandchildren, playing cards, bluegrass music and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Survivors include two sons, Dr.
