William Yeoman, age 86, of Kersey passed away Friday, February 26, 2010, at the Rensselaer Care Center. He was born in Parr, Indiana on April 10, 1923, the son of David A. and Rilla (Florence) Yeoman.

Bill was a farmer, living in Kersey since 1968, and was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. He was a 1941 graduate of Wheatfield High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Bill was a member of the Wheatfield Masonic Lodge #642 and the American Legion Post #406. On June 16, 1956, at the First Baptist Church of Wheatfield, he married Shirley Stroup who passed away on August 5, 2000.

Surviving are three children, Sarah Elizabeth (Bill) Sholey of Wheatfield, David Lawrence Yeoman of Demotte, and Mary Ellen (Michael) Sholey of Demotte, and five grandchildren, James and Vicky Sholey and David, Stephen and Jayce Sholey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, Ray Yeoman, and three sisters, Annetta “Sis” Hoffman, Betty Korniak, and Reba Anderson.
