William D. Halloran, 68, of Wenona, died June 25, 2015 in OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Mr. Halloran was born in Streator on August 22, 1946 to John and Burdette (Holland) Halloran. He graduated from Woodland High School and lived in the Manville and Wenona area his entire life. He served in the US Army from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War. He was an engineer where he built buildings for the US Air Force. Mr. Halloran married Claudette Coons on August 16, 1969. He worked at GTE and later Verizon as a cable splicer for 30 years.
Mr. Halloran was a member of the Wenona American Legion. He served on the Wenona City Council several years. He enjoyed golfing, working on dad’s & mother-in-law’s farms. He loved to cruise the Wenona and Blackstone area in his pickup truck while drinking coffee.
Mr. Halloran is survived by his wife Claudette of Wenona; one daughter Shannon (John) Vitale of Minonk; two grandchildren Hailey Higbie and Brodi Vitale. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Bob Halloran, and serveral cousins.
