LEWISVILLE- William R. “BILL” Copeland, 87, of rural Lewisville, passed away on Thursday morning September 2, 2010 at the Waters of New Castle. A son of the late Carroll and Gladys (Chew) Copeland, Bill was born in Spiceland, Indiana on December 17, 1922 and graduated from the Spiceland High School with the class of 1940. Following high school he worked at the New Castle Chrysler. Bill entered the United States Army on January 14, 1943 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant on November 19, 1945. He received the Purple Heart Medal with one Bronze Cluster for wounds that he received in Barendorf and Annacount, France.
