William Clare Bowen, 82 passed on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Heritage Park Care Center in Roy, Utah.  He was born December 30, 1937 in Logan Utah to William Clair and Elsie Hunter Bowen. 

Clare grew up in Mendon, Utah.  He graduated from South Cache High School in 1956.  In high school he lettered in several sports including football, basketball and baseball and was highly recognized in his community for his accomplishments.  After high school he attended Utah State University where he received a degree in Education.  He joined the United States Army and served for two years before being honorably discharged.  Clare taught school for 9 years in the Cache Valley area before moving to Clearfield, Utah where he began working for Hill Air force Base and worked there for 14 years before taking a medical retirement.  He returned to work at Thiokol where he worked 5 years until his final retirement in 1991. 

Clare married Patricia Ann Laursen on November 17, 1967 in Logan, Utah and was sealed in the Logan Temple November 20, 1969.  They have been married for 53 years.  Clare is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  In his youth he served a church mission to the Central States, Oklahoma and  Missouri mission and again served as a senior missionary with is wife Patricia in the Georgia, Macon mission.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Ham Radio and traveling in their RV.     

He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Bowen of Brigham, daughter Michelle Bowen Becker of Brigham City, Stepchildren Jeffrey Lynn Morris of New Smyrna, David Marlo Morris of South Dakota,  and Kelly Morris Marchant of Kaysville; 4 grandchildren Mishayla Marchant Lindeman, Miranda Marchant Lloyd, Dalton Bowen, Jason Morris and 7 great grandchildren; one brother Michael (Lorraine) Bowen, sister Susan (Ed) Howard, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by father William Clair Bowen, mother Elsie Hunter Bowen, brothers Robert Bowen, Fred Bowen and Gary Bowen.
