Ehlert, William “Bill” C. of Freeland, Michigan,
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 77 years old. William Charles Ehlert was born on February 26, 1939 in Chesaning, Michigan to the late William and Elizabeth (Kocsanzy) Ehlert. He married the love of his life, Ronda Sue Tyson on August 27, 1977 in Saginaw. Bill was the former owner and operator of Clark Gas & Oil on Bay Road. He was also employed as a salesman for Snap-on Tool for many years. The last 16 years of his career Bill worked as a financial planner with Ameriprise. He was a faithful member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, as well as served on their finance committee. Bill was an avid hunter. He also was interested in classic cars and Lionel Model Trains. Above all, he loved and cherished his family. He will forever be remembered for being a wonderful husband and father. Most importantly he was proud of all his grandchildren and cherished the role of best grandfather ever.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Ronda Sue Ehlert of Freeland; two sons and one daughter: Robert Ehlert of White Lake, Kristine Ehlert of St. Paul, MN, Bruce (Heather) Ehlert of Byron Center; 10 grandchildren: Chase Ehlert, Skylar Ehlert, Tarah Ehlert, Jessica Linck, Richard Linck, Donald Graham, Tyler Ehlert, Justin Bauman, Samantha Ehlert and Alyssa Ehlert; one great-granddaughter, Alura Ehlert; one brother, Richard (Bonnie) Ehlert of Ovid; and one sister, Evelyn Ehlert. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a very special nephew, Gabriel Ehlert.
