William C. “Bill” Vicars, born April 25, 1952, in Synder, TX, went to be with our Lord at the age of 59, on Friday, January 20, 2012, in Boerne, TX, after a long battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his father, Calvin Vicars, mother, Jeffie K. Woody, sister, Susie Wetmore and nephew, L. D. Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife, Margie L. Vicars; his children, Josh (Tammi) Vicars, Staci Vicars, Lindsay Crozier, and Daniel (Michele) Morgan; his 8 grandchildren, Brett, Scott and Conner Vicars, Riley and Dayton Crozier, Justin, Zac and Haley Morgan; sisters, Mary McFarland, Patsy Rose, and Toni Haney; numerous nieces and nephews. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U. S. Army from July, 1969 to July 1975 and served in the Vietnam War from 1970-1971. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign medals and Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star. He was a long time resident of Boerne, TX, loved the outdoors and his family and was a member of Faith Bible Church. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will always be remembered in the hearts of his loved ones and will be missed dearly. The family would like to give a special thanks to the VA for everything they have done.
