Anderson – Rev. William C. ”W.C.” Blair, 87, Anderson, died August 18, 2002 at Community Northview, Anderson after following an extended illness.. He was born June 30, 1915 in Casey Creek, Kentucky, and resided in Anderson, Indiana.
He lived most of his life in north Anderson. Rev. Blair was an evangelist and also served as pastor of the Church of God, Wise, Virginia for seven years. He owned and operated W.C. Blair Construction Company of Anderson and was also a farmer in north Anderson.
He was a member of the North Anderson Church of God. Rev. Blairs’ family would like to thank the staff at Community Northview and the St. John’s Hospice unit for all of the love and care shown to their father throughout his illness.
He is survived by his Five children: Joy and husband Rex Brock of Ft. Myers, FL.; W. Garnet and wife Sandra Blair of Anderson; Hollis and wife Wanda Blair of Brentwood, TN; Debra and husband Jim Noggle of Middletown; and Marsha Blair and husband Billy Harris of Anderson. One sister: Pearl Flincham of Casey Creek, KY. One Brother: Monte Blair of Casey Creek, KY. 16 Grandchildren: Mick and wife Linda Gilliam of Findley, OH; Scott and wife Laura Gilliam of Anderson; Diana and husband Kyle Gray of Austin, TX; Jeffrey Blair of Virginia Beach, VA; Terri and husband Marcel Blair-Baker of Virginia Beach, VA; Hollis Jr. and wife Lee Blair of Indianapolis; Londa Blair of Brentwood, TN; Kim and husbandArnaldo Monge of Lexington, KY; Bill Blair of Brentwood, TN; Chad Henson of Nashville, TN; Lee Henson of OK; Libby Henson of Middletown; Cassie Noggle of Middletown; Corey Noggle of Middletown; Carrie Benefiel of Keystone, CO; Jessica Benefiel of Anderson. 9 Great-grandchildren: Micah Gilliam, Amanda Gilliam, Kirby Gilliam, Brady Gilliam, Matthew Kellams, Josh Blair, Rebecca Blair, Thomas Frederick Monge and Christina Grace Monge.
He was preceded by his He was preceded in death by his wife whom he married July 7, 1935 in Kentucky, Frances Irene Carroll Blair who passed away on July 24, 2001. His parents: Leslie and Nannie Tedder Blair. Grandson: Nathan Blair Benefiel who passed away on July 29, 2002.
