William C. Toepper passed away at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Age 89. He was born March 2, 1925 in Oak Park, IL, the son of the late John Frank and Helen Ella Reimann Toepper and had lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years.

William served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed as a police officer with KPD for 18 years and then went to work for the Michigan Secretary of State, retiring after 18 years of service. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and past member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was an avid boater, loved traveling and enjoyed working with model railroads and collecting stamps. On March 10, 1967, he married Flossie E. Burger, who preceded him in death on January 3, 2000.

William is survived by two sons and one step-daughter, William R. Beth Toepper of Kalamazoo, Barry Toepper and Linda Stoppelberg of Kalamazoo, Kathy Toepper-Dalman of Portage and June Robert Walker of Portage; three nephews Gary, Steven and Jeff; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Toepper; nephew Mark Toepper and one step-son, Bruce Neeson.
