William C. (Bill) Haberstroh, 89, of 746 Arch Street, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at The Gatehouse Hospice following a brief illness.
Bill’s wife, the former Genevieve J. McNeil, died January 14, 2007.
Bill was a Navy veteran of World War II serving on the U. S. S. Missouri. He was a 1941 graduate of the Williamsport High School, a member of VFW Post 844, Williamsport and was an avid fisherman.
Born June 22, 1922 in Fort Wayne, IN, he was the son of Charles H. and Gladys Crawford Haberstroh.
Surviving are a son, Christopher C. (Christy) of Williamsport; daughters, Holly M. (Butch) Myers of Muncy and Debra A. Howard of Williamsport; sisters, Peggy Bastian of Williamsport, Betty Kramer of Selinsgrove, Joyce Mix of South Williamsport and Nancy Bordner in Indiana; grandchildren Brandi Schoch, Tina Ditzler, Sean Howard, Chad and Colleen Haberstroh; seven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and a niece, Marcia.
Bill was predeceased by brothers, Jack Haberstroh and Graydon Crawford.
