William Byron Massey, age 58, of Palestine, left this world for his heavenly home on Sunday, the 26th day of September 2021. He was born in Shelby, Texas, on the 19th day of October 1962, to parents Roy William Massey and Dorothy Shafer Massey.
Byron was a member of First Baptist Church in Slocum, Texas. He never met a stranger and had a loving personality in which he truly cared about other people. Whenever you were in his presence, he would have you laughing and smiling. Byron considerably enjoyed fishing, rodeos, and the cowboy way of life.
Byron leaves behind his son, Chris Sbrusch of Denson Springs, Texas; sisters, Tammie Pyeatt and husband David of Elkhart, Texas, and Janice Rogers of Tyler, Texas; brothers, Billy Massey and wife Debra of Moody, Texas, Preston Massey of Slocum, Texas, and Brent Massey of Arizona. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Dorothy Massey and his brother John Lockler.
Byron’s wishes were to be cremated, and the family will celebrate his life at a later date.
