William “Bub” Hunter Rhyne, age 83 of Lincolnton, NC passed away August 30, 2019 at CaroMont Health in Gaston County, NC. He was born on October 11, 1935 in Lincoln County, NC to the late Hunter Clyde and Georgia Waycaster Rhyne. In addition to his parents, Bub was preceded in death by two brothers; Millard Rhyne and Darrell Rhyne, and two sisters; Clara Crouse and Emily Rhyne. He served in the United States Army and worked in the machine shop at Getrag as an inspector for many years.
Mr. Rhyne is survived by his wife, Sharon Hutchins Rhyne of the home, one son Daniel Hunter Rhyne of Colorado Springs, and two daughters Sonja Kaye Duncan of Hickory and Melany Anne Casey of Maiden, one brother, Lee Rhyne, and four sisters; Ann Poteat, Minnie Dellinger, Catherine Sherrill, and Dorothy Hull, and eight grandchildren; Katelyn Casey, Jacob Casey, Sarah Casey, Heather Casey, Noah Rhyne, Elizabeth Rhyne, Johanna Rhyne, and Naomi Rhyne, and one great grandchild, “Aggy” Hudgens.
