William Bryan ”Wilbur” Aynes, 56, Anderson, died January 9, 2004 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana. He was born July 22, 1947 in Anderson, Indiana, and was a lifelong resident of this area. He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in 1996 after 27 years od service. He served his country in the US Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Amvets #692 Brian Simpson Post, the American Legion and the VFW. He is survived by his mother, Thelma L. Aynes of Anderson; children, Derrick & wife DeAnna Aynes of Leesburg, Florida, Courtney Aynes of French Lick, Wendy Mendenhall of Anderson; brother, Rick & wife Trena Aynes of Pendleton; sisters, Terry & husband Bud Mabbitt and Mary & husband Bob Mabbitt both of Anderson; eight grandchildren and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Aynes Sr.; his grandparents and a niece, Morgan Mabbitt.
