William B. “Bruce” Morse, 80, of Fortville, passed away Monday, March 23, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born July 24, 1939, at home in Fortville to William H. and Idella M. (Haggerty) Morse.  Bruce was an aviation machinist in the U.S. Navy. He attended Purdue University where he received his accreditation as an aviation mechanic.

Bruce retired as an engineering technician from Detroit Diesel Allison after 23 years’ service.  While he was employed at Detroit Diesel Allison, Bruce also served as a Hamilton County Reserve Deputy.  Once he retired from Allison, Bruce was hired as a full time Civil Deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department.  Bruce was an active member of Fortville Christian Church having sung at services for many years.

Bruce is survived by wife Marlene Sue (Raymer) Morse; sons: Brett W. (Sarah) Morse of Bloomington, IN; Bart R. (Laura) Morse of Georgetown, KY; twin daughters: Angela (Sam) Barnhart of Columbia, TN; Annette (Chris) Reed of Pendleton, IN; 10 grandchildren; brother James Morse of Anderson.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Lucinda Moore.
