William K. “Billy” Testa, 75, of Peru, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020, at Manor Court in Peru. Billy was born September 11, 1945, in Peru to Charles C. and Dorothy (Meyer) Testa.

Billy was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Peru, and worked and retired from the City of Peru. He loved car races at the LaSalle Speedway, riding his John Deere lawnmower, and cutting grass for his neighbors. He had a great fondness for lottery tickets with which he was pretty lucky. Billy attended his nephews’ baseball games and was a batboy for the Cams baseball team. He took pride in caring for his family gravesites and kept the flowers watered when they were fresh. Billy loved flowers, especially roses, which he had around his house. He was very helpful and watched out for his elderly neighbors and everyone that knew Billy loved him. The nursing home staff, his family at John’s Place in Peru, his brothers and sisters, and his nieces and nephews were all a big part of his life.

Survivors include five brothers and sisters, Charlotte (Harold) Konieczki, Ronald (Pearl) Testa, Charles (Betty) Testa Jr., and Mary Zimmer all of Peru, and Donna (Carl) Kepper of Oglesby and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece.
