William Luther “Billy” Gray, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at his home. Billy worked as a carpenter for most of his life, and most recently he worked for Coweta Greenhouses delivering flowers. He loved woodworking, thunderstorms, the outdoors, and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his daughters, Amber Ashmore (Lee), Jessica McElroy (Kurtis), and Michelle “Missy” Gray, who he recently reconnected with; his grandchildren who were his world, Chloe Gray, Ella and Logan Ashmore, Harper McElroy, Kayla and Kalya Gray, and Kerrilynn and Kerry Wilkins; great-grandchildren London Franklin and Zevin Roberts; siblings Harold Williams, Melody Rainey, Jimmy Gray, Robin Barclay (Danny), Melissa Vaughn, and Elaine Carver; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Sherri Mitchum Gray, whom he cared for until her passing on May 21, 2021; parents Luther Pride Gray and Louise Olivia Gray; son Bobby Gray; and siblings Kenny Williams, Michael Gray, Ernie “Big E” Carver; and Diane Roscoe.
