William A. GibbsBrookhaven, PAJune 18, 1959 – February 20, 2021William Andre Gibbs, affectionally known as “Billy” was born on June 18th, 1959 in Chester, Pa., as the first child to William Gibbs and Juanita (Price) Gibbs. As the eldest of 5, William did all he could to protect and love his siblings, and parents. He attended Chester High School and was a basketball, track and field and soccer athlete, who had a passion for art, music and math. In high school, he also met the love of his life Maxine and they had been together ever since. He later attended Drexel University and earned his bachelor’s degree in fashion design. Shortly after graduating he married his wife Maxine Gibbs, was married for 38 years and had 5 children. William had a number for jobs but his true passion was tailoring. As a master of his craft he tailored and styled everyone he could, from sewing a prom dress for his daughter to alternating suits for his brothers at the Kingdom Hall. He started his own business named “Agemm Tailoring” named after his wife and children, and kept tailoring for as long as he could. William was a devoted servant of Jehovah and was a dedicated Jehovah Witness. He used every opportunity to spread the word of Jehovah to all who would listen. He was an Elder of the Chester congregation for many years and was heavily active in bible studies, meetings, and field service. He loved Jehovah with all of his heart and constantly prayed that others would build a relationship with God and find the truth. William was devoted to his family. He was always quick to have family over to his home, he loved family reunions, and was happy to recite the nicknames of all his cousins, aunts, and uncles. He constantly played with his grandchildren whenever he saw them, and looked for the latest toys to buy for them. He was an amazing father who was there whenever his children needed him and taught them strength, courage, and compassion. He enjoyed life to the fullest, from riding roller coasters, riding jet skis, and driving his Corvette to admiring art, playing the bass, and attending concerts. William is survived by his wife Maxine, his children: Essence, Andre, Mason, Evin and Ellis Gibbs, their spouses: Jazmyn, Nicole, and Shealyn Gibbs; his grandchildren: Nolan, Paige, Gideon, Cameron, Ethan and Solomon Gibbs. He was preceded in death by his parents William Gibbs and Juanita Gibbs; and siblings: Resa, Kimberly, Edward, and Jerrod Gibbs.
