William “Bill” Wiltfang, a lifetime resident of Morocco, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, May 21, 2018.

Bill was born in Morocco, Indiana on July 3, 1937, the son of William John and Nedra Jane (Rich) Wiltfang. He attended the Morocco schools, graduating from Morocco High School with the Class of 1956. Bill was a determined and strong minded person with a gift of gab and a love for family and friends. He never met a stranger he didn’t enjoy talking to and became friends with many. He retired in 2001 after working 39 years at Schumacher Electric in Rensselaer, where he was plant manager. Bill was a member of the Indiana National Guard, serving out of the Rensselaer, Indiana Armory. He was a member of the Morocco First United Methodist Church.

Bill had many passions in life. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and bowler; teaching many young people the etiquette of the sport. Bill loved to spend time at the Shamrock golf course with his brother and other golf buddies. He enjoyed the challenge of a good puzzle and playing card games. He took pride in his garden, planting and harvesting each season. Bill was a history buff who enjoyed reading country and western books along with those on the Civil War. His favorite books were those authored by Zane Grey. Bill will be missed dearly by his friends and loving family. Surviving are a sister, Janet Storey of Morocco, Indiana, a brother, Philip (wife Marita) Wiltfang of Bradley, Illinois, five nieces and five nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and one brother.
