William (Bill) W. Barnes
Born 8-10-1948
Died 11-12-2018
Bill was born in Denver and prided himself on being a Colorado native, living his whole life in Aurora. He was part of the first graduating class from Hinkley High School, class of 1966, going on to graduate from Metro State University.
Bill is survived by his mother, Lillian, his wife, Barbara, his brother, Daniel, his sons, Dylan, Miguel, Rory (Samara) and Andy (Regina). He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde, daughter, Jillian and son, Eddie. He is also survived by the lights of his life; grandchildren, Rory, Taylor, Morgan, Tessa, Mandy, Layla, Karsen, Brooks, Liam, Tyler and Owen.
Bill was an avid fly fisherman who tied his own flies and even made a couple of rods. He enjoyed playing his guitars (7 of them) and singing. When he was in his twenties, he sang and played at weddings. However, his first love was hitting the little white ball in grass (and sometimes sand). Many years ago, he formed a “men’s club” of golfers and every Friday (weather permitting) they would be playing 9-holes at Aurora Hills.
When he wasn’t golfing or fishing, he worked as a field superintendent, building commercial buildings. He got great satisfaction from taking dirt and turning it into a building.
Bill loved good jokes and funny videos. Once he discovered the internet, he had the best source imaginable. That, along with him being “quite the character”, made him well loved by those who knew him and he will be forever missed.
