Bill was born on April 18, 1925 in Hutchinson, Kansas to his parents Claude Sorency Moore and Barbara Morma Moore (Mitchell). After attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, he graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Kansas in 1943. By 1946, Bill had earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering-Engines from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Prior to embarking on what would become a uniquely distinguished career path, Bill heeded the call of his nation and joined the United States Navy at the tail end of WWII and was later Honorably Discharged at the Officer rank of Ensign.

In the 1960’s, Bill moved his young family, including three boys under the age of 5, to London, England and then Kuwait. Bill designed, built and operated a petro-chemical plant in Kuwait that converted natural gas into agriculture products. In the 1970’s, Bill and his family relocated from Kuwait to Madrid, Spain and then onto the United States where he became the Construction Manager for the newly created Gulf Oil Corporation town of Reston, VA – one of the first planned communities in the U.S. He later designed and built numerous office buildings throughout the US, including Hawaii.

Bill was a loving and attentive husband and life partner, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was generous, empathetic, an avid golfer, an amateur genealogist and, later in life, an aspiring artist. Through his extensive travels all over the world, he developed a great respect for other cultures. His many friends and family fully appreciated his great sense of humor and intelligent approach to problem-solving. He will forever be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Fredrick; his children, Byron (Petra) Moore, David (Gwendolyn) Moore, and Andrew (Dorothy/Dory) Moore; grandchildren, Lindsay (Steven) Trate, Farrell Moore and Carson Moore; great grandchildren, Isaac William Trate and Remy Lee Leniek; siblings, LuAnn (Jack) Logan and Claude (Nancy) Moore.
