William “Bill” Lee Cupples, 55, of Newton, died on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Bill, the son of Phyllis (McWhirter) Ballard, was born on July 21, 1967 in Newton. He was a lifelong resident of Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1985. Bill enjoyed riding motorcycles, hanging out with friends, and collecting things.
Bill is survived by his three children, Scott Cupples of Spencer, Destiny (Nate) Balk of Newton, and Drake Cupples of Newton; seven grandchildren with one on the way; his mother, Phyllis Ballard of Newton; and brother, Tony (Kim) Cupples of Ozark, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Larry Ballard; brother, Timothy Ballard; and a son, Dillon Cupples.
