William “Bill†Helsie Holland, Jr. age 67 of 210 Hermitage Dr., Danville, VA. went to be with his Lord Saturday, April 24, 2010. He was the son of the late Ruby Odell Holland Powell and the late William H. Holland, Sr. He was married to Charlotte Webb Holland. Bill retired from the City of Danville Fire Department as a captain after thirty years of service. He also served as president of the firefighters union. Mr. Holland was a member of the Tree Of Life Ministries. In addition to his loving wife he is survived by one daughter, Maria Martin, one sister Judy Rogers, two brothers Bobby Holland and wife, Cheryl and Danny Holland and wife Bambi, three grandchildren Lance, Joshua and Jolee, his long time friend and chess partner, Don McClary and his precious little Chihuahua “Ladyâ€. In addition to his parents Bill was predeceased by two daughters, Melissa Holland and Angela Holland, and one brother Jack Holland.
