William “Bill” Goode Talton, III, 73, of Newnan, GA passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Bill was born October 24, 1942 in Newport News, VA to the late William G. Talton, Jr. & Mary Jeanette Rodgers Talton.
Bill grew up in Apopka, Florida and attended and graduated high school from Georgia Military Academy in College Park. After high school, he moved to Newport News, VA and worked as a ship builder before being drafted into the Army. After his military career he was a pilot with Eastern Airlines from 1966 until their closure. He then began his career with ValuJet in 1994 and where he remained through their merger with Airtran and Southwest. At the time of his passing, he was still proudly working for Southwest Airlines.
Bill was a devote Christian and an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Sharpsburg, GA.
