William “Bill” Emberton, 74, of Whiteland, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 5, 2021.
He is survived by his wife Marla, a daughter Diane, a son Brian, daughter-in-law Jessica, and 5 grandchildren: Kayleigh, Meghan, Jack, Matthew, and Payton, a sister Cathy, and a brother Robert. Bill was very proud of his family. He was preceded in death by his mother Edith, his father William, and a brother Shane.
Mr. Emberton was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was wounded in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star and an Army Commendation Medal. He was a 1965 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 1976 graduate of Indiana University. Mr. Emberton retired in 2002 after 30 years with Commercial Union Insurance Company. He was an avid golfer and a member of Dye’s Walk CC since 1992, except for a brief hiatus in Georgia to be near his young grandchildren.
