William “Bill” Dorris, Jr., 73, of Belton passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at his home in Belton.
Bill was born on August 27, 1947 in Alexandria, Virginia to William Sr. and Bertha Carolyn (Long) Dorris. He was raised all over the globe while traveling with his family, attending school in Costa Rica for a period of time. He joined the US Army in 1967 and served in Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Mr. Dorris was honorably discharged in 1970 and began a long career in the construction industry. He worked for Cap-A-Bus in Salado and later for Bell County Road and Bridge for 15 years before retiring. Bill married Patricia Dutschmann in 1975 in Bell County. Bill was a member of The Wolves Riding Club where he was known as “Hellifino”, often attending Sunday church services at rallies along with Patricia and his friends.
Survivors include his wife Patricia of Belton; son William Stuart “Will” Dorris of Belton; daughter Anna Marie Davis of Bell County; and brother Wayne Allen Dorris of Killeen. Also surviving are grandchildren James Robert Dorris, Amanda Franz and her husband Cody, and Jynifer Davis and a great grandson Liam Dorris.
