William “Bill” D. Allen, 87, of West Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Allisonville Meadows in Fishers.
He was born December 22, 1933, in Terre Haute, to the late William and Gertrude Allen.
Bill graduated from Terre Haute Wiley High School and Xavier University- Cincinnati.
While at Xavier, Bill served in the ROTC and obtained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Following College William proudly served in the Army.
On April 19, 1969, he married Ann Wasson in Delphi and she survives.
Bill is a retired Paint and Wallpaper Contractor, prior to that he worked for Smith – Alsop Paint
He was formerly a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Center, Breakfast Optimist and the Elks.
Bill enjoyed Purdue University sports and was a life long Chicago Cubs fan.
Surviving along with his wife Ann is a daughter, Caryn of Indianapolis and two sons, William of Indianapolis and Eric (Michael) of Philadelphia, PA.
Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Burke.
