William “Bill” Berte, age 58, of Algona passed away on December 22, 2020 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. William Alfred Berte, the son of Adam and Dorothy (Fuhrman) Berte, was born on February 12, 1962 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Algona. He graduated from Algona High School in 1980. After High School, Bill received his AA degree from Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville. On February 27, 1999 Bill was united in marriage with Michele Miller at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Before Rental Zone Bill owned and operated Berte’s Car Care where he detailed many vehicles and put in stereos in vehicles. Bill owned and operated the Algona Rental Zone where he enjoyed visiting with his customers and making sure they were happy. He enjoyed working outdoors, family vacations, following the Packers, taking his dogs on rides and spending time with his children. Left to cherish Bill’s memory is his wife of 21 years, Michele; children, Courtney and Dylan Berte of Algona; 2 brothers, Ron Berte of Flowermound, TX and Allen (Connie) Berte of Algona; nephews, Larry (Rachel) Berte, Michael (Jennifer) Berte and Adam Berte; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dogs, Duke & Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Berte; and a niece, Candice Berte.
