William B. Tinsley, Jr., 94 of Senoia, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at LaGrange Health & Rehabilitation. He was born December 4, 1922 in Fayette County, GA to the late William B. Tinsley & Margaret White Tinsley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Joyce Morgan Tinsley and by his wife of 27 years, Martha Cato Tinsley and his son, William L. “Bill” Tinsley. Mr. Tinsley was a Navy Veteran of WWII where he served as a gunman on the USS Eberle. After his Naval service, he moved to Senoia where he started Tinsley Construction Company. He and his company handled the grading and excavation of many developments around metro Atlanta, those included many ponds and lakes in Spalding and Coweta Counties as well as grading for Arrowhead, Shannon Mall and North Dekalb Mall. Mr. Tinsley was known for his joking personality, showing off his sailor girl tattoo from WWII, his giving nature, and his soft spot for children and the elderly. He was a frequent visitor to nursing homes and Golden Corral, handing out beads, flashlights and toys to people in line. Survivors include son, Bob Tinsley & wife Nancy; daughter, Peggy Hall & husband Gary; step-children, Sharon Ragan & husband Ricky, Tim Massengale & wife Carla; sister, Patsy Simmons & husband Dr. John; grandchildren, Alex Tinsley, Natalie Mrozek, Matt Tinsley, Scott Tinsley, Chris Hall, Brittany Roughton, Lauren Phillips, Lindsey Ragan, Brooks Massengale, Robbie Massengale, Chandler Mayo.
