William B. Pieper, 89

William B. Pieper, 89, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007. Mr. Pieper was born in Eagle Pass, Texas. He never met his father who died of the infamous 1918 flu on November 6. In January 1939, he married Alma LaPerle Jeffers and soon moved to Los Angeles, CA to work in the aircraft industry. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the destroyer USS Stephen Potter.

At the end of the war he resumed his career in flight testing developmental aircraft, most notably the YB – 49 or “Flying Wing”. In 1950 he and his family relocated to Alamogordo to work on guided missiles at Holloman Air Force Base.

Mr. Pieper was active in Masonry throughout his life.

Mr. Pieper is survived by LaPerle his wife on nearly 70 years; son, Lloyd and wife Janet of Sierra Vista, AZ and Ronald and wife Mary of Alamogordo; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Family will greet friends at 9:00 A.M.
